Well David is an attractive bachelor, restaurateur, active, athletic, 55 and very wise in the way of the dating world. Roz, a widow of a certain age, a business woman, racehorse owner and breeder who is well-traveled, interested and interesting is also here to give you a hand. Collectively we've been dating for over 100 years! We will answer any dating question you have, so send it in. Use the form at the bottom of the page to email us whatever you have on your mind. So withoput further ado, here are the latest and greatest of the questions we've received.

Dear David and Roz,
"I am a man in my mid seventies, very comfortable after a long and successful career in Wall St. I was widowed about 10 years ago and it was a happy marriage. Two great kids. I was lonely and after meeting a woman younger than myself by much I was swept off my feet and married her in Las Vegas. I guess you can tell by this that it didn't work out. She just dazzled me, and although I'm attractive {they say} she was really obviously after my money! We never learn, do we? Now I’m gun shy but I would like to get married again, I enjoy the companionship of a woman. What should I do in your opinion?"
- Roger

ROZ SAYS:
Dear Roger,

You sound like a smart guy, so don't give up. Just next time you pick and choose go slow, look at the ladies who are closer to your age, try to find someone through friends, at a club you may belong to, at church, answer some of our beautiful ladies here on line. Believe me, there are plenty of terrific women out there just hoping for someone like you to come along. But whatever you do don't rush into anything, give yourself a time period of engagement, so that you really can get to know each other so well there won't be any crazy mistakes like you had before .I know you'll do fine.

  DAVID SAYS:
Dear Roger,

There is no hurricane on the horizon so get back in the water and go with your instincts & experience. Your success in business is due to your overall understanding of human nature as well as hard work, talent & discipline. There is an abundance of well intended women out there and of course there are always the sharks, barracudas & sea lice which you should be able to recognize and avoid in the future. If you are having trouble distinguishing the dangerous species in the water, when in doubt ask the life guard on duty, a trusted friend or professional. Now jump in and enjoy the swim!

Dear David and Roz,
"I have written you before and again here it goes. When I am on a date site, it seems that the younger guys email me and not those of my age. I was married to a man 18 years younger than me for 23 years, and don't think I can go though that again! I wish the older men would email me but it seems they want a younger woman rather than someone my age. What do you think?"
- Cricket in Temple Texas

ROZ SAYS:
Dear Cricket in Texas,

You must be some hot babe and your name is cute too so that must say something about you why all the young guys are attracted to you. Other women of a certain age have a hard time attracting anybody at all and wish they could be so lucky as to be in a spot like you are in. Anyway, age really shouldn't make a difference, and if someone nice comes along and he's younger again, give him a chance. Maybe this time around he won't have the same bag of tricks as your late husband, and you'll be happy together ever after but without the angst! I say take it as it comes and be grateful and thankful!

  DAVID SAYS:
Dear Cricket in Texas,

You are not alone, we receive similar questions from many our female readers. As we know, the May – December stories have always existed and in some way they have gained some social acceptance. Financially secure men have for centuries opted for younger women and younger women have found love, status & security with established older men. Today we also see fit, successful women turning the tables and electing to date and marry eager younger men. Perhaps your traditional point of view of searching exclusively for a man closer to your age and preferably older may prove to be difficult if your search is exclusively being conducted on line. I believe that as an aggregate the older an individual is in today’s society the less likely they will be savvy enough to be successful at online dating. This is most likely the reason you are being emailed by a preponderance of younger men, along with the appeal of your profile and photos. The target male you seek may be best met through personal introductions from friends and through your participation in varying activities. I would make your situation known to your trusted network of acquaintances and expand your participation in social activities or why not find a popular computer class for seniors and browse the class for someone you would like to help with their homework? You should also adapt and get to know the younger men who are writing now. You may find a real diamond for you among them if you avoid making hasty generalizations based only on age and not what is in their heart.
